Humanities

I would give myself a whole big fat A+ only becuase the people who had fish had a disadandtage because we could put anything in our water only out. And not all of us had enough room to do what Catlin did. The reason I give myself an A+ is because I stayed after school almost everyday and if I didnt stay in after school I came in, in the morning. I worked very hard on the back drop and I also tryed to do my best make the fabric look nice!

If I had to give myself a precentage, i would give myself a 70% out of 100%

Life Science

I would give myself an A. I believe that I deserve and A because I have a great functioning tank, that our fish love. I feed the fish twice a day and they are very healthy. My tank has a working filter, a light/top, plants, and as well as a structure for them to play with. I also think that another reason I should also get an A because I clean the water just about once a week, with a plastic tube. I also add and subtract some rocks for the bottom. I clean them out and if they smell to bad, I through them away.

I think I did more of the work, so I would give myself 85%!

What I have been up to

Latley in class it has been VERY stressful! I cant even explain, I have been working on just the basics, like cleaning my tank and setting up our whole area. Amanda and I have been really taking charge and setting up our whole area, liek hanging fish (paper) from the ceiling, and putting up signs. It has been very hard, the hardest thing was trying to keep everyone to stop bombarding our fish! Well, latley danielle hasnt been doing anything, she has been hanging out with evanglyn and going on youtube and gmail and researching about her plays. Today Amanda and I worked on a sound track that will be playing on exibition night. They are a bunch of bubbles! Its so cool! Well thats the update over and out....

Information Pannel

Tuesday, 15th, 2007
I got back from vacation, and had to get on track. I got my homework, study guide on Animals, and went from there. The test was on Thursday. I'm taking it Friday though. That day I was on the computer planning out my individual panel. I did it on photo shop.
Wednesday, 16th, 2007
Today I printed my interpretive panel, and laminated it. Yet, I then found 3 smelling errors, and then my friend sat on it, and made a crease, so I threw it away, and went to Micheal's, and got a whole new materials for a project. That night was hard, because I also had to make time for studying, 1 hour of reading and making the project. I did the project, studied a little and read for 45 minutes, then went to sleep.
Thursday, 17th, 2007
I woke up, and got my project and ran out the door. My project is now in the class room, and I am SAFE! So today I'm working on blogging for the days I was absent.

More About the Zoo

At the zoo my partner and I finished the whole packet in the first 2 hours. I did half of the work. She (Danielle) did the other half. We wanted to finish the whole thing so we dont have to spend the whole time doing work. We had a great time.

Lesson Plan

I have been doing a lot as well as my partner. I have made the whole PowerPoint and the activity. I brought in Almond Milk, so we can pass that out with our presentation. Last night I made the Activity props. I also brought in my two fishes I had at my house. There names are Anne bell and Luna. Danielle brought in four fish. All together we have 6 fish. One has a disease called Air Lungs. We have been noticing some of the habits, that represent this disease.

Skits

My group, the fish, decided to split up and let the boys do what they wanted and the girls what they. I had to type the 10 facts sheet, were I had to combine the notes everyone took in our class, and types the most important. Catlin and Mara helped me. Then we had to split the notes up in the groups and then we split and did our skits. The skits went really well, and we didnt mess up at all.

Charlemagne

In 768, when Charlemagne was 26, he and his younger brother Carloman inherited the kingdom of the Franks. In 771 Carloman died, and Charlemagne became sole ruler of the kingdom. At that time the Franks were falling back into barbarian ways, neglecting their education and religion. The Saxons of northern Europe were still pagans. In the south, the Roman Catholic church was asserting its power to recover land confiscated by the Lombard kingdom of Italy. Europe was in turmoil.

Charlemagne was determined to strengthen his realm and to bring order to Europe. In 772 he launched a 30-year military campaign to accomplish this objective. By 800 Charlemagne was the undisputed ruler of Western Europe. His vast realm encompassed what are now France, Switzerland, Belgium, and The Netherlands. It included half of present-day Italy and Germany, and parts of Austria and Spain. By establishing a central government over Western Europe, Charlemagne restored much of the unity of the old Roman Empire and paved the way for the development of modern Europe.

On Christmas Day in 800, while Charlemagne knelt in prayer in Saint Peter's in Rome, Pope Leo III placed a golden crown on the bowed head of the king. Charlemagne is said to have been surprised by the coronation, declaring that he would not have come into the church had he known the pope's plan. However, some historians say the pope would not have dared to act without Charlemagne's knowledge.

Charlemagne learned to read Latin and some Greek but apparently did not master writing. At meals, instead of having jesters perform, he listened to visiting scholars read from learned works. Charlemagne believed that government should be for the benefit of the governed. He was a reformer who tried to improve his subject's lives. He set up money standards to encourage commerce and urged better farming methods.

"By the sword and the cross," Charlemagne became master of Western Europe

As is often the case, people considered great by historians are great killers as well. Throughout his conquests, Charlemagne was responsible for the death of masses of people who refused to accept Christianity, or their new king. Choosing to keep faith with their old gods and leaders, many thousands were slaughtered.

Lesson Plan

Today Mr. Strong interduced us to a new portion of the project called the Lesson Plan, that is where we have to learn indepth our time frame and be able to teach a 45 min - 1 hr. lesson plan about it. My time frame is the Charlemagne times, and my partner and I are going to be doing some hard core studying. The requirments for this project will be in a later post, once I get the copy of the sheet.

Zoomanities

This project is called Zoomanitites, which is about learning about a specific time zone, such as S. Europe Charlemagne times. There is a time, that is paired up with a specific animal, and you have to build an habitat that the animal can live in, but as well represent the time zone you are in. My group is the Fish and its time zone is Charlemagne times. My group is made of, Bella (me), Dani, Matt F, Evanglyn, Amanda, Pauline, Hunter, Jose, Catlin and Maira.
